Managing Director

A member of Charlesbank’s senior investment team, AJ has been with the firm since inception. In addition to helping lead investments in Business & Consumer Services over the years, he offered important process leadership on many historical fundraisings. Currently he works closely with IR, providing strategic guidance and leadership to the team.

AJ joined Harvard Private Capital Group, the predecessor to Charlesbank, in 1996. Prior to that, he worked as a Research Associate in entrepreneurial finance at Harvard Business School and as a Consultant at Bain & Company.

Personal

AJ and his wife Cindy live in in Needham, MA, and have three adult children. He is an avid Boston sports fan, endurance cyclist, lumbering runner, enthusiastic hiker and downhill skier. AJ serves on the Board of Trustees of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Board of Directors of Facing History and Ourselves. He is also the immediate past president of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and has been involved in the startup of three other non-profits - A Kids Brain Tumor Cure (which was subsequently merged into the PBTF), College Affordable and itrek.org.
