Galls Sponsors Be the Change Scholarship

Boston, MA, May 8, 2024 – Charlesbank portfolio company Galls, LLC again sponsored the Be the Change Scholarship program in its home city of Lexington, KY. The spirit of the scholarship is to create an opportunity for a rising high school senior of color who is committed to attending a Kentucky college or university in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field (police studies, social justice studies, pre-law, forensic science, emergency medical care, fire protection, homeland security and more).

Galls is the leading distributor of uniforms and equipment to public safety agencies and specializes in providing customized, mission-critical uniforms, safety equipment and related gear. Galls CEO Mike Fadden notes, "At Galls, we are proud to serve those who serve, including the brave members of the Lexington Police Department and Kentucky State Police, as reflected in the scholarship’s emphasis on criminal justice education. It is our honor to give back to the Lexington community where so many of our Galls associates live and work."

This year, Bryan Station High School seniors Michelle Moore and Aline Sandoval Cano, who both plan to attend the University of Kentucky, each received the $10,000 scholarship. Formed in 2022 through a partnership with Galls and One Lexington (a program dedicated to reducing violence in the city), the scholarship has since brought in an additional partner, Central Bank & Trust Co.
