Maltego is a graphical link analysis software platform used by investigators for cybersecurity threat intelligence, law enforcement and trust & safety use cases. Institutions such as the FBI and INTERPOL, many financial organizations and half of the DOW 30 rely on Maltego software to visually map and connect a large volume and variety of data to rapidly conduct investigations and identify threat actors. Maltego is noted for its minimal setup requirements, ease of use, rapid time to value and diverse out-of-the-box data integrations.
Investment Summary
Charlesbank’s Technology Opportunities team acquired Maltego in 2023. Cybersecurity, and threat intelligence in particular, has been a key thematic initiative for the TOF strategy over the last several years. Maltego represents an opportunity to invest in a growing, highly respected OSINT and cyber threat intelligence platform with strong customer relationships, multiple growth and value creation levers and a proven management team.
