Founded in 2025, Velocity One is a holding company consisting of EMCORE (formerly NASDAQ: EMKR), Cartridge Actuation Devices (CAD) and Aerosphere Power. The three companies are leading manufacturers of highly engineered components for the aerospace and defense industries, with product capabilities in navigational solutions, energetic devices and power systems.
Investment Summary
In early 2025 following a multi-year thematic pursuit in the sector, Charlesbank acquired EMCORE, a provider of specialized inertial navigation solutions to the A&D industry, and formed Velocity One. Partnering with the veteran management team, we will work to scale the business, pursuing strategic M&A to expand capabilities and unlocking new opportunities in the A&D sectors.
